This lot comes from Finca La Reforma, a farm run by the Alvarez family in the Apaneca-Ilamatepec mountain range, specifically in Calzontes Arriba. The farm sits at elevations between 1,300 and 1,450 metres, where a mild climate (around 20°C) and generous annual rainfall of roughly 2,300 mm create ideal growing conditions.
Coffee is grown under native shade trees, including Inga, and farm management follows sustainable principles aligned with Rainforest Alliance practices, even if not formally certified.
Cherries are processed using the natural method and dried on raised beds for approximately 18 days. After drying, the coffee is sent to El Borbollon mill, a long-established, family-run operation known for its expertise in coffee processing and export.
