Perfect for both espresso and filter coffees.
Tucked into the highlands of Chontalí, in the province of Jaén (Cajamarca), this coffee-growing region is defined by dramatic ridgelines, misty valleys, and a network of smallholder farmers, most working plots under two hectares at elevations of around 1,600 to 2,000 metres above sea level.
Producers, cultivate classic varieties such as Caturra, Bourbon, and Typica, with smaller amounts of Pache and Catimor adding diversity to the landscape. Fully washed coffees are the norm, delivering clarity and structure in the cup, while some farmers are beginning to explore honey and natural processing methods on a smaller scale.
